Steven
Pressfield's book 'The Gates of Fire' has done more than any other to
bring awareness to the Battle of Thermopylae and the legendary warriors collectively known as the 300
Spartans.
Steven Pressfield's website has the latest on the 'Gates of
Fire' movie and a journal where he writes about being made an
honorary citizen of Sparta. Included in one of the pages is a great picture of several Marines on a little R 'n R reading the 'GofF'.
While S.P.'s books on ancient Greece are accepted readings by many universities, the topics include not only the aforementioned Battle of Thermopylae, but the Peloponnesian Wars and Alexander the Great.
