The links below will direct you to the rarest collection of 1962's 'The 300 Spartans' movie memorabilia and 1998's Frank Miller '300'
memorabilia. In addition, a comprehensive list of links have been included that compile art, statues, books, DVD's, etc. whose main focus is
King Leonidas, the 300 Spartans and the Battle of Thermopylae.
Proceeds from the sale of any of these items will be used to fund the 2009 Leonidas Expedition.
The goal of this website from its
inception has been to raise awareness of the Leonidas Expeditions and
its objectives. However, what has been humbling is that these pages
have been used by students, teachers and hobbyists as an educational
tool to supplement their knowledge of the Battle of
Thermopylae. While the main emphasis of this site was and
still is for the aforementioned reasons, elements of commerce have been
included to help fund the expedition which is comprised of academics, authors and scholarswho
will travel to the battlefield of Thermopylae
in 2009.
I would like to recognize and thank the following individuals whose
contributions have added greatly to this site: Dr. Andreas Yiannakis, Nikos Panos, George Heliopoulos, Darius
Kadivar, Kourosh Afhami, Wolfgang Gambke, Reza Memar and Vasilis Linidis, in addition to
the artists, photographers and everyone else who has been kind enough to
grant permission to use their images and to whom I am most
appreciative.
Most
importantly, special acknowledgment must be given to sculptor DiAnne Cooper whose extraordinary creation of the limited edition sculpture of King Leonidas
will help support the funding of the 2009 Leonidas Expedition.
If there is anyone whom I have inadvertently omitted and
who has not been properly credited, please contact me.
Thank you one and all -John
